Stop DCM's 'unscientific' feeder canal work: Min

UNION Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Railways V Somanna has written to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to stop work on the Express Link Canal Feeder Project that would divert Hemavathy River water to Kunigal and parts of Bengaluru South district (Ramanagara).
The link canal was the brainchild of DCM D K Shivakumar, and the project is being executed amid strong opposition from leaders cutting across party lines, including Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara. Kunigal is represented in the assembly by Shivakumar's co-brother, Dr Ranganath, and falls under Bengaluru Rural Lok Sabha constituency, formerly represented by the DCM's younger brother, D K Suresh
