Nimmala Counters YSRCP's Claim on Height Reduction of Polavaram Project

WATER Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu on Tuesday refuted YSRCP leaders' allegations on the Polavaram project's height reduction.
Responding to Botcha Satyanarayana's demand for details in the Legislative Council, Ramanaidu pointed out that ₹55,000 crore had been approved for the project in 2019 under then-Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He denied the existence of any Phase-1 or Phase-2 classifications (41.15m or 45.72m) between 2014 and 2019 and challenged YSRCP leaders to provide evidence. He accused the previous government of introducing these classifications after 2019.
