CHITTOOR District Collector Sumit Kumar announced that the State government has introduced additional financial assistance ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Backward Classes (BC) to accelerate house construction.

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE @ Chittoor Kurnool

Speaking at a press conference at the district secretariat on Wednesday, the Collector stated that ₹1.20 crore had been allocated under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

A survey starting on March 15 will track the progress of 17,800 identified beneficiaries, ensuring timely payments for those completing construction by December 2024.

The administration is resolving 10,000 revenue-related grievances, with 1,500 already addressed. Special revenue meetings and gram sabhas will help clear 3,000-4,000 cases in the next six months.
