Yogi, Maurya not on same page over seer’s protest

AMID the ongoing controversy involving Jyotirpeeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand and the Magh Mela administration, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his Deputy Keshav Maurya seem to be on different pages as both have given contrary statements on the row.

While Chief Minister Yogi, on Thursday, implicitly criticised the protest as a conspiracy to weaken Sanatan Dharma by those masquerading as religious leaders, Maurya has taken a reconciliatory stand, saying he bowed to the seer requesting him to end his protest, close this chapter of controversy and take a holy dip.
