THE final session of the Rajasthan assembly kicked off on Friday with an address by President Draupadi Murmu.
Highlighting the rich history of the desert state, Murmu advised the Rajasthan MLAs to look beyond their self-interest and serve the public with dedication and commitment, at a time when corruption has become rampant in India’s political system.
She emphasised that the 200 elected representatives of the Rajasthan assembly must focus on creating policies for the development of their constituents and embrace the collective spirit of “us” rather than individual interests. She encouraged MLAs to reflect on their own contributions and evaluate what they have done for the public, considering that the public elected them to serve in the assembly.
