A show of strength, a touch of family optics, and a confident pitch to voters marked the start of nomination filings in Assam on Friday, setting the tone for what CM Himanta Biswa Sarma insists could be a one-sided contest—even as opponents frame it as a fight for change.
A large number of BJP workers joined a roadshow for Sar-ma as he went to file his nomination at the office of the Kamrup (Metro) District Commissioner in Guwahati. His wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, his son, Nandil Biswa Sarma, and Guwahati MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi accompanied him.
