PUC centres warn of total closure if govt acts tough

WHILE the Delhi government is considering taking action against petrol pump owners who have shut down pollution under control (PUC) certification centres in the national capital to express discontent over the proposed hike in PUC certification rates, the dealers have warned that they would surrender their PUC centers if any coercive action is taken against them by the government.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Petrol Dealers' Association (DPDA), after a general body meeting, has decided to continue the strike and even intensify its agitation if the government takes any punitive action.
