PMK bloc joins AIADMK-BJP alliance

THE Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) faction led by Anbumani Ramadoss on Wednesday announced its decision to join the AIADMK-BJP alliance for the 2026 Assembly polls.
The announcement was jointly made by AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami and Anbumani after both met at the former's residence in Chennai.
Hours after the alliance was announced, PMK founder S Ramadoss, who is fighting a bitter battle with his son Anbumani for control over PMK, said that he alone is authorised to lead the party and decide on alliances. "Only I have been vested with the authority by the party's executive and general council to conduct alliance talks," he said.
