Medicos question lack of representation
The Morning Standard
|August 21, 2024
SEVERAL medical professionals criticised the National Task Force (NTF) constituted by the Supreme Court on Tuesday to formulate a protocol for ensuring the safety and security of doctors and other healthcare professionals, over lack of representation.
The 10-member task force headed by Vice Admiral Arti Sarin has been asked to submit interim report by three weeks.
A number of senior doctors underscored that the NTF has no representation from the vulnerable hospitals but institutes where very few incidents of violence against healthcare workers had been reported.
The Federation of Indian Medical Associations (FAIMA), a national body of Resident Doctors Associations (RDAs), told this newspaper that it will appeal to the top court to include resident doctors.
