Law college terminates prime accused in rape case, expels 2

THE South Calcutta Law College authorities on Tuesday terminated the services of contractual employee Manojit Mishra, prime accused in the gang rape incident, while the other two accused, students of the college, were expelled.

Meanwhile, the Alipore Court has remanded Mishra, along with co-accused Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee to further police custody till July 8.

The lawyers of the accused told the court that the survivor was in a relationship with the prime accused. Asserting that Mishra had even arranged an inhaler for her, his counsel argued that he couldn't have raped the survivor. However, the lawyers didn't pray for bail for the three accused.
