India ranks 105th among 127 countries in Global Hunger Index, ahead of Pak

THE Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2024 report has ranked India 105th out of 127 countries. India is placed way below Sri Lanka (ranked 56), Nepal (68), Myanmar (74) and Bangladesh (84), and just above Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The GHI report, published jointly by global agencies 'Concern Worldwide' and 'Welthungerhilfe', tracks hunger globally, in a bid to highlight regions that require urgent action.
The GHI score of each country is calculated based on four indicators that depict the multidimensional nature of hunger. These are: Undernourishment, child stunting, child wasting, and child mortality.
