Expelled AIADMK leader OPS joins DMK, to get ticket

AFTER finding no opening within the NDA fold, three-time chief minister and expelled AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam on Friday joined the ruling DMK in the presence of party president and Chief Minister M K Stalin.
Party sources said the DMK leadership has assured him the post of Assembly Speaker if the party returns to power, besides offering seats to Panneerselvam and some of his key supporters in and around Theni district to consolidate anti-AIADMK votes.
Speaking to reporters after joining the DMK, Panneerselvam said he had accepted Stalin’s leadership.
