Audit reveals worn tyres, faulty simulators, faded runway marks at Delhi, Mumbai airports; report sought within a week
A comprehensive surveillance conducted last week by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) at Delhi and Mumbai airports has uncovered several glaring critical safety and technical concerns, prompting the aviation regulator to direct both airports to address these issues within a week.
Among the major issues revealed during the surveillance was the recurrent failure to adequately rectify defects in aircraft, with many issues reappearing multiple times.
Another significant finding was that no survey had been conducted over the past three years of new constructions around the airports, raising concerns about potential safety risks.
