THE water crisis in the state capital due to the rerouting of transmission lines continued for the fourth consecutive day, leaving residents facing severe shortages.

Day four of water crisis: Normal life remains crippled in Kerala capital

Although pumping resumed on Saturday night, a rupture in the water pipeline halted operations.

Kerala Water Authority (KWA) planned to complete the shifting of transmission lines in two days; however, unforeseen technical hurdles delayed the work, leading to a major disruption in the water supply.

At least 43 wards have been affected by the disruption.

Sunday evening saw no improvement in the water supply.

Residents were desperately awaiting relief as it dragged on to the fourth day. The Water Authority had assured that services would be restored by noon, but leaks detected after resuming pumping delayed the repairs.
