CP Among 78 NDMC Areas To Get Smart Roads Soon

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has made a plan to transform 78 roads across the New Delhi area, including the iconic Connaught Place, into smart roads featuring modern infrastructure and enhanced safety measures.
The decision follows an interim survey by the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), which highlighted significant visual distress such as deep cracks, surface deterioration, and overall roughness in these stretches. Officials wary of the development said the council aims to introduce smart roads with cutting-edge facilities, including modern kiosks, street furniture, parking zones, and sitting plazas.
