Cong releases first list of 48 candidates as deadlock over seat-sharing ends

AFTER many hiccups, the Congress finally named its candidates for 48 Assembly seats for the upcoming Bihar elections to be held in two phases, on November 6 and 11.

The list was released late on Thursday by AICC general secretary KC Venugopal.
The party has given tickets to five women and four Muslim candidates in the first official announcement of its candidates. It has retained 11 MLAs, namely those in Bhagalpur, Kadwa, Manihari, Muzaffarpur, Rajapakar, Buxar, Rajpur, Kutumba, Kargahar, Hisua and Aurangabad.
