Centre Positioning Cooperatives as Pillar of Viksit Bharat: Shah

UNION Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Sunday emphasised that India is playing a leading role in the UN-designated International Year of Cooperatives 2025. Linking grassroots reform to global recognition, Shah outlined a nationwide revival plan rooted in empowering Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), tech-driven transparency, and greater citizen participation.

He was addressing the Maha Sammelan in Ahmedabad hosted by the Gujarat State Cooperative Federation. With 57 initiatives already underway and a target to establish 2 lakh PACS by 2029, the Centre is positioning cooperatives as a pillar of 'Viksit Bharat', Shah said in his address.
