The end is approaching for Ramaphosa’s government

August 20, 2025

THE end is near for President Cyril Ramaphosa and the ANC, with the people's government moving in the direction of realising the Freedom Charter’s ideal that the will of the people is paramount.

Democracy in South Africa has been a fallacy, with many citizens just exercising their right to vote every 5 years, thereby giving elected representatives free reign of power without holding them accountable.

Most of the meetings held by political parties centred around elections and public holidays, with little feedback, if any, to constituencies regarding decisions being made in parliament. I'm of the opinion that most of these parliamentarians and their caucuses don’t even get a mandate from their party members.
