I HAVE had the privilege of practising uninterruptedly in the legal profession for 48 years, serving in various spheres of the judiciary, including that of chief magistrate and practising attorney.

As far back as June 1996 and January 1997, articles were published in which I expressed how crucial the prosecuting authority, as well as magistrates and judges, are to the orderly continuation of our country.
I never imagined that I would one day write a letter for publication expressing the views I now wish to share.
In short, it is my opinion that our legal system is in the process of total collapse — and once it finally breaks, our country will not survive.
The ANC’s destructive policy of cadre deployment and evasion of accountability has effectively dismantled our justice system.
