The long and short of it is that there's a problem

I'M not the man I was. I am diminished. Reduced in stature. I walk now not as tall.
I am speaking not metaphorically, nor figuratively, but in real terms. I dig out the passport, thinking it records statistics such as the person's height, but not so.
Somewhere in the past I recall my height being officially recorded. Was it when I won the Nobel Prize for Literature? (OK, cut the cheap gags Ed.) Some medical records perhaps? I can find no evidence and discover myself having a sort of Orwellian obsession that the true records for some reason have been altered (read the novel 1984).
Am I like the character in the film The Incredible Shrinking Man who eventually became so tiny as to bear no relevance to the 'normal' world, needing to adapt to a universe of increasing diminution?
