Teen takes on 120-mile challenge in memory of his dad

A 19-YEAR-OLD from North Shields has taken on a 120-mile coast-to-coast challenge in memory of his dad.
Charles McManus completed the monumental feat on October 5, in order to raise money for St Oswald's Hospice.
The North East based charity cared for dad David in his final years, where he received palliative care before passing away in 2017. Charles previously completed a 'Metro Marathon,' which saw him run 77.6 miles across the entire Tyne and Wear Metro network.
With Storm Amy in full force, however Charles set off from Whitehaven at 3am on Saturday, October 4, and after completing over 70 miles in 18 hours and reach Cumbria, he made the decision to take a few hours' rest. This allowed him to get refreshed before taking on the second leg towards the finish line in Tynemouth.
