Teachers set to strike over disruptive pupil behaviour

TEACHERS at a Northumberland high school are set to walk out this week over the failure of management to act on disruptive pupil behaviour.
Two days of strike action have been announced at Haydon Bridge High School after pleas for an effective policy to manage pupil behaviour went unheeded.
Members of both the National Education Union (NEU) and the National Association of Schoolteachers and Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) will walk out this Wednesday and Tuesday, November 25. The unions say teachers have been calling for urgent changes for more than a year.
A spokesman for the NEU said: "Support staff and teachers at Haydon Bridge High School want to have a safe system of pupil behaviour in place and working. They put the safety of all pupils at the top of their list of priorities.
