Teachers set for two-day strike

NORTHUMBERLAND high school will see days of strike action over two weeks over an alleged failure to deal with disruptive pupil behaviour.

Haydon Bridge High School is set to see teachers strike this week

Unionised teachers at Haydon Bridge High School are set to walk out tomorrow and Wednesday.

Both the National Education Union (NEU) and NASUWT ‘The Teachers’ Union have stated the walkout is due to what they see as lack of progress on measures to crack down on poor pupil behaviour.

Further action will also be taken by unionised teachers on December 16, 17 and 18.

A strike scheduled for November 19 and 25 was called off whilst union representatives, Northumberland County Council and school leaders met to try to resolve the issue.
