NEWCASTLE United's hopes of landing Real Madrid sensation Arda Guler on loan hang very much with Xabi Alonso.

The Turkish youngster's future at the Bernabeu was in doubt under previous boss Carlo Ancelotti, with the 20-year-old not getting as much game time as he would have liked under the Italian.
He has been linked with a loan move away from Spain this summer, with Newcastle, Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen all credited with interest in the forward.
