ELIEZER Mayenda believes Sunderland's preseason camp in Portugal has sharpened focus and spirit, with the Premier League challenge now firmly in sight.
The Black Cats rounded off a solid week's work on Monday with a 1-0 defeat against Portuguese champions Sporting CP. The squad had been training in the Portuguese heat for six days with a series of physically demanding double sessions.
Spain U21 striker Mayenda reckons it's been the perfect environment to test the squad, strengthen team bonds, and sharpen focus.
