New leisure destination opening is pushed back

THE opening of a new multi-million pound entertainment destination inspired by the legendary Coney Island and Tivoli Gardens has been pushed back, it has been confirmed.
City leaders pledged a massive boost to Newcastle's nightlife - and daytime leisure scene when they first announced plans for Freight Island in February. Already a roaring success in Manchester, excitement and interest was immediately piqued by news of the planned arrival of Freight Island in Newcastle, with developers setting to work on creating a drinking, dining, live music and live entertainment centre the city could be proud of.
