Mayenda set for a new contract

SUNDERLAND forward Eliezer Mayenda has agreed a new deal to stay at the club until 2030.

That's according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano who has reported that the Spain youth international has been rewarded for his excellent performances.

Manager Regis Le Bris wants his best players from last term to be recognised and Mayenda is set to commit his future to the club despite attracting interest from across Europe.

It is a boost for Sunderland as they look to establish themselves as a mainstay in the English topflight, and the 20-year-old will be desperate to prove his quality.

He joined the Black Cats from Sochaux on a five-year contract in 2023 and was loaned out to Scottish Premiership club Hibernian in February 2024.
