Man injured in alleged shooting

A SUSPECT has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was injured in an alleged shooting in County Durham.
The A691 from Consett into Lanchester has been closed in both directions since Monday evening following the incident.
Police were called to reports of shots being fired at Lanchester Hand Car Wash, just before 7.30pm on Monday night. It is alleged that a car pulled into the business and shot a man, causing injuries to his chest, face, forehead and eye.
An investigation has been launched and a man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Witnesses are being urged to come forward.
