Magpies sign young Spanish star Cordero

NEWCASTLE United have confirmed the signing of exciting Spanish talent Antonio Cordero, who will officially join the Magpies on July 1 when his Malaga contract comes to an end.

The 18-year-old has racked up 60 appearances for the Andalusian side despite his relative inexperience, helping guide Malaga to Spanish Segunda safety this season following their promotion last term.

Cordero chipped in with six goals and seven assists in the league last season alone.

The youngster’s arrival is subject to completion of the Premier League's registration process and the player obtaining a UK visa - but speaking out yesterday, Cordero expressed his happiness at making such an ambitious move.
