NEWCASTLE United have missed out on England goalkeeper James Trafford due to some forward thinking by Manchester City back in 2023.
Pep Guardiola's side offloaded their academy graduate to Burnley back then but wanted to retain the chance of resigning him further down the line.
As such, a buyback clause was included as part of the deal, which allowed City the opportunity to match any offer submitted for Trafford's signature.
