Industry is 'critical' to growth of North East

THE North East has increased the number of people working in manufacturing by 7,000 in the last year, according to a new survey.
-
The Make UK/BDO annual Regional Manufacturing Outlook report shows the importance of the manufacturing sector to the North East's economy, accounting for almost a sixth (14%) of the region’s total output, well above the national average.
It contributes 121,000 jobs, an addition of 7,000 jobs since 2023.
