ONE of Hadrian's Wall's most popular visitor attractions is looking for pet pooches to don bandanas and become dog rangers this summer.

Housesteads Fort in Northumberland National Park is considered one of the best-preserved Roman forts in Britain. The dog-friendly attraction introduced four-legged rangers last summer in the hope of helping owners explore the site responsibly and now hopes to recruit many more.

Rangers and their owners meet and greet visitors, offer dog treats and poo bags and advice on responsible dog walking aiming to ensure Hadrian's Wall Country is accessible to everyone.

There is a host of wildlife on the site, with sheep and ground nesting birds at risk of being disturbed, whilst venomous adders can cause serious problems if and when they bite.
