ENGLAND Under-21s' fearlessness and momentum makes Jermain Defoe confident Lee Carsley’s side will do “something special’ in tonight's European Championship final against Germany.

Two years after winning the competition for the first time since 1984, the Young Lions are on the cusp of glory again after overcoming a sluggish start in Slovakia to reach the Bratislava showpiece.
England followed an impressive quarter-final win against favourites Spain by winning Wednesday's semi-final against the Netherlands to set up a meeting with Germany, who beat them 2-1 in the final group game despite making 11 changes.
Slovenia's defeat to the Czech Republic meant they progressed anyway and former striker Defoe thinks Carsley’s ever-improving side, with Newcastle's Tino Livramento and former Magpie Elliot Anderson key components, are a different beast heading into today’s final.
