Critically speaking these looks were my top choices

WITH the Baltic temperatures we have been experiencing this week, all I have wanted to do is wrap myself in knitwear and snuggle under a fleecy blanket.

Fortunately for the purposes of this column, the Hollywood elite don't have the option of lounging on the couch for an Emily in Paris binge (don't judge, she wore me down, and I'm not alone, it's getting a sixth series). On the other side of the Pond, film awards season is getting underway.

The fun started at the weekend with the Critics Choice Awards at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, where I'm betting the limo drivers didn't have to scrape the ice of their windscreens as I found myself doing with an old ruler on Tuesday morning.

From sculptural gowns to satin ball gowns, shimmering column dresses to simple LBDs, Christmas may be over but the red carpet was like a guilt-free selection box of style.

HEALTHY START

January is the right time for a reset. Nothing extreme, just food to help you feel good. Think fresh flavours, colourful plates and meals as nourishing as they are comforting. Soothing soups, vibrant salads and a spicy curry are on my menu plus, of course, the odd selection box chocolate which needs eating up!
