Complacency not reason for disappointing draw, says boss

IAN Watson refuted claims South Shields were complacent in their goalless draw at struggling Southport on Saturday.

The Mariners were expected to claim yet another win to extend their stunning start to life under Watson and heighten the miserable run of form their hosts are currently experiencing
However, the two sides failed to break the deadlock throughout a hard-fought 90 minutes as the Mariners came closest to edging the points when Paul Blackett saw a penalty saved by Southport goalkeeper Chris Renshaw.
