Christmas tree at Cragside crowned the world's tallest

A 150-YEAR-OLD Northumberland redwood at Cragside has been crowned with a Guinness World Record as the tallest bedded Christmas tree in the world.
At 44.7-metres, the tree is more than twice the height of the Angel of the North.
It has been decorated with 800 metres of lights with 1,320 bulbs, with two people using a cherry picker to decorate it over three days.
Carl Saville, Guinness World Records adjudicator, said: "The breathtaking giant redwood, perched on the edge of the hillside, is a vision of growth and pure beauty in Cragside's historic landscape. It was a privilege to give this tree the recognition it deserves".
