Charity’s £32k gift to help children with cancer

FAMILIES with a child undergoing active cancer treatment spend an extra £700 a month on expenses, including hospital travel, food and clothing during treatment, according to research from Young Lives vs Cancer.

Northumberland County Council chairman Coun John Beynon celebrates raising £32,280 for Young Lives Vs Cancer
The charity helped 303 local families find the strength to face cancer last year alone. It also gave out 257 financial grants totalling £58,475 to help families to cope with the costs of cancer. And yesterday the charity received a £32,280 donation from Northumberland County Council Chairman, Coun John Beynon, to help it to continue its vital work.
