Botman back but Howe easing him in

NEWCASTLE United will ease Sven Botman back into first-team duties after the Dutchman made his eagerly-awaited return to Eddie Howe’s senior side over the weekend.

There were fears the 2022 signing would miss the remainder of the campaign after going under the knife to drain fluid from his knee back in March.

However, Botman returned, off the bench, for the final few minutes of Saturday's comfortable 3-0 win over Ipswich Town.

Howe afforded the 25-year-old just seven minutes against the Tractor Boys, with Howe calling the return a 'perfect reintroduction' for the player.
