India's Special Forces gear up for greater covert warfare
The Island
|April 02, 2025
NEW DELHI, April 1: India is enhancing the capabilities of its Special Forces to excel in covert warfare, with a focus on both high stakes counter-terrorism missions and strategic operations deep behind enemy lines.
From advanced weapons to next generation communication systems, India's special forces are being equipped to tackle a range of challenges with stealth and efficiency, The Times of India reported.
India's special forces now have access to some of the world's most advanced military equipment, enhancing their ability to perform covert operations.
The induction of loitering munition systems boosts precision-targeting capabilities, while new drones, including micro-drones, surveillance copters, and ultralight drones with FLIR (forward-looking infrared) payloads, provide advanced surveillance capabilities over distances of up to 10 kilometres.
