Flood disaster taking toll on share market

The CSE was trading down yesterday shortly after open, as the full extent of the disaster following Cyclone Ditwah was becoming more apparent.
The reason being that investors were concerned that economic development will slow down and cost of production also would increase.
The All Share Price Index was down by 690.77 points, while the S&P SL20 declined by 162.65 points.
“There is some panic selling, which we have seen in the past, too, when starting trading.
The selling was seen across the board. But the market has recovered a bit from open, analysts said.
