'Big boots to fill' — Jayasuriya says replacing Mathews will take time

Head Coach Sanath Jayasuriya has admitted it will take time for Sri Lanka to fill the void left by Angelo Mathews, who called time on his glittering Test career last week after 119 caps.

The veteran batter signed off in Galle and the baton now passes to one of three uncapped players - Sonal Dinusha, Pawan Rathnayake or Pasindu Sooriyabandara - with one set to debut when Sri Lanka take on Bangladesh at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) from Wednesday.
All three have caught the eye in domestic cricket and for Sri Lanka 'A', but 24-year-old Dinusha, a left-arm spinner and gritty left-handed batter, has emerged as the frontrunner. While unlikely to slot in at No.4, Dinusha is tipped to debut at six, with skipper Dhananjaya de Silva moving up the order to occupy Mathews' old spot.
