Eglinton legend ends tenure at club as resignation'reluctantly'accepted
William Shearer has elected to stand down as co-manager of Eglinton.
Shearer help found the club initially as a boys’ club before climbing the age ranks, eventually leading to senior amateur football prior to the Kilwinning club being accepted into the senior pyramid and the West of Scotland Football League (WoSFL) in 2022.
That move brought about a change in name from Kilwinning AFC to Eglinton.
Shearer was co-manager with Dougie Taylor but has now ended his lengthy tenure at the club with chairman Alasdair Drummond confessing that he'd accepted Shearer's resignation ‘reluctantly’ while heaping praise on his legacy and work with The Jousters.
