'QUEEN MURPHY' DIES, AGED 45
FAMILY and colleagues have paid tribute to a Huddersfield woman who was ‘simply unforgettable?
Mum-of-two Kat Murphy, who has died aged 45, worked as a school office administrator at Netherton Infants and Nursery School, Huddersfield, where she was loved and respected by staff and the children. Kat's family described her as hardworking, compassionate, principled, kindhearted and ‘unconventional’ in her dress sense.
Kat was well known in the village of Netherton and was a respected member of the community as well as the school where she worked. The children at the school adored her and gave her the nickname Queen Murphy.
After Kat had been diagnosed with a brain tumour, she bravely had her head shaved and helped raise money for the research charity.
