FOR many its a family tradition, for others its just a bit of fun, but going out to pick up a pumpkin is a common thing to do ahead of Halloween.

If you're looking at visiting a pumpkin patch before Halloween with your family, or if you just want to go yourself for a bit of fun, then look no further.

There are a lot of pumpkin patches around Yorkshire to choose from, so we've compiled a list of some of the best.

For those who've never tried it before, now’s as good a time as any to start.

Here is a list of some of the great pumpkin patches across Yorkshire:

Eastfield Farm

FOUND in Tickhill, Doncaster, Eastfield Farm has some great reviews on TripAdvisor. While it provides plenty of pumpkin picking, you can also visit for strawberries and other fruits.

One review read: “We've been coming here for pumpkin picking, strawberry picking and flower picking for the last couple of years. I love it.

“It’s fun, it's different, it’s fairly priced, the quality of everything is lovely, the strawberries are beautiful, the flowers are gorgeous and the pumpkins have so much variety.”

The Pumpkin Patch

YOU can find this family-run pumpkin patch in Bewholme East Yorkshire.

There are pick your own events through October with plenty of activities. A reviewer wrote: “What a fantastic family experience this was today. The organisation, imagination and creativity needs to be applauded.

“Not only was there a piano in the midst of a sea of sunflowers but a huge swing and other surprises as we wandered around the fields.

“As well as being able to pick pumpkins and magnificent sunflowers there were lots of activities for children. The greatest fun was the tractor experience, firing water guns at Halloween Targets.

“What a marvellous idea this is and one that the family can enjoy together. Quality refreshments were available and the Brownies and Pizza were delicious.
