RESIDENTS CLAIM 'DEFECTIVE' SURFACE IS CAUSING DRIVERS TO LOSE CONTROL OF CARS

- By ANDREW ROBINSON

KIRKLEES Council has responded to claims that a rural road has a “defective” surface that is causing drivers to lose control in wet conditions.

Motorists in Holmfirth fear that it is only a matter of time before a driver or biker loses control and is killed or seriously injured.

They have called on Kirklees Council to take action.

Drivers have reported a number of incidents of drivers losing control on the A635 Greenfield Road, near Holmfirth, on bends in the road down from the former Ford Inn pub, near to Upperthong.

A section of the road has warning chevron signs and 30mph signs.
