Ritz blaze 'suspected arson' say fire service

A SERIOUS fire at the former Ritz Ballroom in Brighouse is being treated as suspected arson.
Eight fire crews and two aerial ladders attended the fire on Saturday evening after the vacant property in Bradford Road, Brighouse, caught fire. The flames caused significant damage to the building.
West Yorkshire Police alongside the fire service are investigating the cause of the blaze.
Yesterday, a fire service spokesman said the cause of the fire was suspected to be deliberate.
The spokesman added: “We were called at 5.16pm on Saturday, December 6 to reports of a derelict building fire at the Ritz Ballroom in Brighouse.
