SIR John Hurt dyed his hair red to bring the flamboyant and outrageous Quentin Crisp to life in groundbreaking drama The Naked Civil Service.
The ITV film was based on Quentin’s own memoirs and he narrated the opening saying, “Any film, even the worst, is better than real life”.
