Zahra lands part in TV spin-off of hit series

A PLYMOUTH actress has landed a part in the Death in Paradise spin-off series, and has also been included on a scheme to nurture new TV drama writers. Plymouth-born Zahra Ahmadi will appear in Beyond Paradise, co-commissioned by the BBC and BritBox International, which has been filmed in the South West.

The show stars Death in Paradise leads Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton, as their characters move to rural England. Ms Ahmadi has the role of DS Esther Williams and appears alongside Dylan Llewellyn and Felicity Montagu.

Meanwhile, Ms Ahmadi is also among 12 people selected for a Channel 4 scheme to develop TV writers in South West, giving her a chance to submit a script to the broadcaster's drama commissioning editor. She has been offered nine months of specialist support, which includes in-perworkshops and training, mentoring and introductions scripted drama production companies.
