THIS double-sided logbook page from Captain James Cook's second voyage (1772-1775) can be seen on display in The Box's major 'Journeys with Mai' exhibition.

The page is written in Cook's own handwriting. It provides navigational information on the wind and weather, the course of his ship, HMS Resolution, and its embarkation and arrival points. It was found inside a volume of his published journals in The Box's historically significant Cottonian Collection.

Half of Cook's original logbook is housed at the British Library. The other half is believed to have been broken up by his widow, Mary, when she was living in Clapham, London.
