Top comics gathering to play a very special show

PLYMOUTH'S top comics will play a special show to help preserve one of the city’s most historic buildings.
The funny men and women have promised to only raise the roof metaphorically when they perform to generate cash for the Grade II* listed Plympton St Maurice Guildhall.
The edifice dates from 1688 but sits on the site of an even earlier, 13th Century, building. Four of Plymouth’s leading comedians will play a special show in the Guildhall to help fund its maintenance.
The Plymouth Comedy Club showcase, on Friday, November 14, will feature headliner Danny Ward, supported by Suzy Bennett and Cristina Varga, with Chris Brooker hosting. The following night, November 15, Chris will perform his Edinburgh show Out Of Nowhere for the first time in the city, with Cornish comic Ben Treloar in support.
Chris said: “This November Plymouth Comedy Club and Plympton St Maurice Guildhall are thrilled to join forces and present an absolutely unforgettable weekend of laughter. The Friday will feature the very best comics that Plymouth has to offer coming together to raise funds for the magnificent Plympton St Maurice Guildhall”
